At California Closets, we take the time to listen because the intentionality behind every custom solution isn’t by accident, it’s by design. From beautiful closets and home offices to hard-working kitchen pantries and media centers, we design custom home storage that adds value to your life and home by making space for what belongs. It’s what we call, “Practical Magic.” And with our flexible design approach, we’re able to work with any style and budget.
It all starts with a free, in-home design consultation, which can last up to two hours. During this initial visit, your designer will seek to learn the goals and needs of your space. For instance, for a closet design, it’s important to consider the types of clothing that will be stored (how many long hanging sections are needed versus short). In a home office, it’s valuable to know if the area will be shared and how power needs will be integrated. Then, the design process is totally collaborative, thanks to our proprietary 3D software, which allows you to see exactly how the final solution will look in the space.
From there, your final design is custom-crafted at one of our regional facilities. Our premium materials include an exclusive finish palette, as well as elevated construction and design points, which come standard, as opposed to being an upgrade. Our drawers use steel, full-extension undermount runners with soft-close mechanisms, and our standard drawer offering is birchwood with dovetail construction. Our boards are finished with laser edge-banding—not glue—and our standard depth for shelves is 14 inches versus 12 inches with other companies. All our services are performed by employees—never subcontractors—including manufacturing and installation. Plus, all pricing is inclusive of the product, installation, and our limited lifetime warranty.
California Closets originated the custom closet category in 1978, and our expertise now expands far beyond closets to include almost every room in the home: walk-in, reach-in, kids, guest, linen, and entryway closets; mudrooms; laundry rooms; Murphy beds; home offices; pantries; wine bars and entertainment centers; garages; bookshelves/home libraries; craft rooms; and even commercial and retail spaces.
