Blurring the lines between the indoors and outdoors, mirror cabins are designed to not just honor nature, but to blend into its landscapes. When husband-and-wife team, Jake and Meghan Zoesch of Cuyuna Cabin Collection first stayed in a mirror cabin in Tennessee, they knew they needed to bring the rising architecture trend to Minnesota.
This September, they opened the state’s first mirror cabin in Crosby, set on a secluded mine lake in the heart of the Northwoods.
“Everything we did here was intentional, from the way the cabin is angled for the best views to the different outdoor zones that invite guests to slow down and savor every part of the property,” Meghan Zoesch says. “It’s easily been our most fun project to date because we went all out, creatively and thoughtfully, on every single detail.”
The duo purchased the structure from Estonia-based ÖÖD. The European company, founded by Jaak and Andreas Tiik, took inspiration from the wild rivers, bogs, and woodlands of their home, to construct a product that coexists seamlessly with nature. Even the birds need not fear it—UV film stickers are on all ÖÖD houses, visible to feather friends flying by.
