For Midwest homeowners, spring is a time of renewal—a time to refresh your home’s exterior after a long winter. Thanks to James Hardie’s new AI technology, that transformation is easier than ever.
Introducing Hardie Designer, a Hover-powered design tool that allows homeowners to preview James Hardie products on their home with just a simple photo. “Hardie Designer allows homeowners to easily experiment with the look of Hardie products, including textures and trending colors, helping them visualize their dream home with just a few clicks,” says Sean Gadd, president of James Hardie North America, in a prepared statement. “We are setting a new standard for how homeowners engage with our industry-leading products in a way that has never been possible before.”
Here’s how it works: Snap a picture of your home’s exterior, upload it to the Hardie Designer platform on James Hardie’s website, and within seconds, you’ll see how various siding styles and colors would look on your actual home. No more relying solely on small siding samples or looking to other houses for inspiration. Think of it as a “virtual try-on” that eliminates the guesswork so you can make selections with confidence.
Whether planning a color refresh or full siding replacement, this tool makes the process faster, easier, and more collaborative. In fact, if you need a second opinion, the technology makes it easy to share your designs directly with family, friends, and even your contractor to get input before making a final decision.
“Homeowners today expect to see what they’re buying before they commit, and the companies that offer real-time design will win,” adds A.J. Altman, founder and CEO of Hover. “Exterior renovations are an investment, and this collaboration is another step toward giving homeowners the clarity and confidence they need to move forward.”
