Kohler Co. is celebrating 150 years of innovation with a new collaboration with Shea McGee and her firm, Studio McGee. The results, including fixtures, cabinetry, lighting, bath fillers, and more, will be available at the Kohler Signature Store in Edina on Sept. 29. “My vision for the collection,” says McGee, “is a focus on transitional shapes that bridge both traditional and modern aesthetics.”
McGee and her firm are beloved for a signature aesthetic that she shares through her popular social media channels, including Instagram; through her star turns on Netflix’s “Dream Home Makeover” and her newly released session by MasterClass; and through her books— “Make Life Beautiful” and upcoming release “The Art of Home.” The designer has long used Kohler products in her projects, and more recently, in her own home.

The new Kohler collection includes six distinct product lines. The Edalyn kitchen faucets have a high-profile spout complemented by stacked detailing and clean lines. A range of spray types caters to diverse needs by offering a semiprofessional faucet, bar and kitchen faucet, bridge faucet, and pot filler. The Castia bathroom faucets (and accessories) have been meticulously crafted to showcase the artistry of precision machine knurling, and have delicately stamped levers and stacked connection points in a subtle homage to the raw beauty of pipe fittings. The versatile line includes sink faucets, bath fillers, shower valves and trims, showerheads, hand showers, and coordinating bathroom accessories.
The Malin vanities have distinctive square legs and clean lines, integrated reeding detail, delicate door framing, and classic mushroom knobs to reflect a Shaker sensibility. The vanities include quartz tops and rectangular undermount sinks, offered in both single- and double-bowl formats depending on size. The Seagrove vanities are imbued with a midcentury aesthetic, on display through tapered legs with beveled edges, gracefully curved transitions, and drop ring pulls with exposed slotted screws. The Embra lighting fixtures feature refined reeding on glass spheres balanced with exposed screw details—a captivating juxtaposition of glamour and industrial chic. The Kernen lighting pieces have textured coining detailing with elegant milk glass, incorporating a vintage charm into the design.
“I’ve always been a fan of the quality and craftsmanship that Kohler adheres to. You can tell that it’s a fixture that will stand the test of time,” says McGee. “For my own collection, I went deep into the Kohler archives to find some of the historical details and styling that make a fixture timeless. From there, I gave them modern updates for a mix that’s uniquely Studio McGee.”
