6 Stunning Bathroom Remodels

Smart design makes each of these polished bathroom transformations a success

Our daily routines set the tone for our days—and so do the bathrooms where they take place. A well-designed bathroom can be a place of respite and rejuvenation. These bathroom remodels transform challenging spaces into supportive ones through forward-thinking design.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Before Vujovich Design Build came into the picture, this primary bathroom was a maze of awkward angles, poor use of space, and bad lighting. In addition to fixing the bathroom’s many problems, the homeowners wanted to add a touch of luxury and hygge-inspired charm. They called on Vujovich Design Build to transform the once-lacking floorplan into a unified, inviting space for both routines and rest. They installed a custom double-sink vanity in fluted rift white oak, which became the anchor of the room and added warmth, texture, and storage. The vanity’s refined wood detail is echoed in a wall niche, adding to the intention of the new design. Marble countertops, chevron-patterned tile, unlacquered brass fixtures, subtle colored accents, and much-improved lighting come together to create a space that is fresh, refined, and totally new.

Rustic Personality

Leona Rose Interiors had to get creative when asked to redesign a primary bathroom in a log cabin. The team had to work within the existing layout, since expanding the footprint or relocating the shower was not an option. To create a striking focal point for the new design, they introduced a freestanding copper bathtub. Further playing off of the space’s rustic character, they added a custom wood vanity, framed by a stone feature wall, and topped with dramatic concrete countertops with integral sinks. Further textural details include pebble tile in the shower, slate flooring, and a fur hide runner that artfully complement the log cabin’s existing character and material features, making the new bathroom fit right in.

Bigger and Better

Home Design by Annie along with Frontier Custom Builders cleverly scaled up this primary bathroom by incorporating excess space from an adjoining children’s bathroom and an unused closet into the design, reimagining a brand-new larger footprint for the bathroom. By reconfiguring nearby spaces, they were also able to expand the primary suite’s walk-in closet—making the bathroom remodel go that much further for the homeowners. Not only did the update improve flow and functionality within the now 140-square-foot space, it added personality to a previously unremarkable part of the home with textured cabinetry, fun light fixtures, glossy faucets, and illustrative wallpaper.

When their corner tub sprung a leak, these homeowners called upon Beyond Kitchens to remodel their primary bathroom. They wanted a simple, clean bathroom with better storage and lighting—plus luxurious touches like a steam shower with rain showerhead, as well as heated floors and a towel warmer. Some of the homeowners’ top priorities were that their new bathroom was easy to clean, would have good storage, and featured better lighting. The reimagined space features all of this and more, including custom cabinetry—complete with a litter box closet and special entry for their pet cat.

SpaceTurtle Construction expanded the original bathroom’s confined floor plan, creating a modern, open, spa-like wet room with better flow and function. Further enhancements include floor-to-ceiling tile, deep soaking tub, and a custom glass shower enclosure. Prioritizing both efficiency and enhancement in their design, SpaceTurtle Construction made smart use of the available space with custom birch cabinetry for a tailored storage solution, along with timeless, low-maintenance quartz countertops, and modern touches, like contrasting dark tile and wall treatment, all to create a functional bathroom with elevated design.

A Timeless Refresh

At just 96 square feet, this bathroom received a full makeover without altering its original footprint. To achieve this, Willaby Way removed the existing small shower and large soaking tub and replaced it with an expansive walk-in, curbless shower which became the focal point of the project—heightening the design of the space and providing aging-in-place practicality. After removing curbs, edges, and leveling out other vertical surfaces, the bathroom also feels more spacious. A white oak vanity with gold-toned hardware, plus gold accents across the light fixtures, shower frame, and large mirror give the new design warmth and cohesiveness, while the tonal gray shower tile and marble hexagon floor tile add a bit of contrast to the coastal-style design.
