Seeking to convert a nonfunctioning wood-burning fireplace into a useable gas insert, Brynn Alden Interior Design used a custom metal treatment and concrete hearth to enhance its appearance and transform it to be the room’s focal point. The addition of birch logs adds visual texture and authenticity, while the blonde maple floors create contrast and bring the modern fireplace to light.
Black & Bold
Anchoring the main level of this Rochester home—remodeled by Interiors by J. Curry and Marquee Construction—a floor-to-ceiling fireplace brings a bold touch to a bright and clean space. The fireplace, installed with the help of Haley Comfort Systems, boasts quartz stone, walnut wood, and steel, which come together to achieve an effortless, elegant look. Complete with intricate details, including custom steel fabrication and mitered corners, the fireplace is a true representation of devoted craftsmanship.
Modern Mediterranean
In departure from traditional fireplace designs, this Hartman Homes creation brings warmth to a main-level sunroom. Flanking the television, the HeliFire 360 gas fireplaces are uniquely built into stone columns, which capture the walnut shiplap and cabinetry. With artistry at the forefront of the design, the vertical fireplaces bring an elevated ambience to the space.
