SALA Architects principal Wayne Branum designed this eco-friendly Sunfish Lake home to be as low maintenance and durable as possible. The governing factor for the modern farmhouse? No maintenance. “The owner wanted to be able to hose it off,” he says. With durability in mind, Branum wrapped the exterior in copper-colored standing-seam roofing steel and charcoal-colored stucco. The striking 5,526-square-foot house presents two unadorned masses to the street. Even the windows, framed in materials of similar colors, are designed to disappear.
