Prospect Refuge Gallery, a Minneapolis-based gallery and concept space, opens this weekend with its inaugural exhibit, “Homecoming: Objects of Origin.” Founded by interior designer and founder Victoria Sass of Prospect Refuge Studio, the gallery opens its doors June 13-14 with a debut solo exhibition that bridges memory, material, and the Midwestern landscape—all part of the designer’s longtime mission to merge collectible objects and cultural dialogue in our region.

“Homecoming: Objects of Origin” features ceramic and lighting works by Jeremy Anderson—co-founder of the internationally celebrated design studio APPARATUS—who returns to his home state for his first exhibition in Minnesota. His sculptural vessels and lighting pieces draw from the forms of rural infrastructure—water towers, silos, and barns—reimagined through a lens of modernism and emotion. “This work is about returning to the place where it all started,” Anderson says in a prepared statement. “There’s something about the Midwest landscape that sticks to you—the water towers, the silos, the light over the fields. Those shapes live in my work.”

Why It Belongs on Your Radar

It’s a personal and powerful debut.
Anderson’s body of work is both a homecoming and a reflection of his memory, identity, and origin. Through evocative forms, he connects the rural vernacular of his Minnesota upbringing with the refined artistry of his current New York-based practice.

It’s a gallery with a broader mission.
Prospect Refuge Gallery is a resource for homeowners, designers, and the design-curious—anyone and everyone seeking unique pieces with global perspective and a local feel.

It’s where regional meets international.
Victoria Sass has long said she wants to “export the Midwest and import the world.” This gallery does just that—bringing regional makers into the limelight while inviting international talent into the fold.

It’s where art meets function.
The gallery’s debut collection speaks to both sculpture and utility. Whether you’re collecting or specifying for a client, these works offer both form and purpose.

You don’t have to wait!
Opening weekend kicks off this Friday, June 13, from 6-9 p.m., with additional hours on Saturday, June 14, from noon to 4 p.m. The gallery will remain open every Friday from 2-6 p.m. for the duration of the exhibition through Aug. 7.

“Jeremy’s work holds space between art and function, between past and future,” says Sass in a prepared statement. “It speaks so clearly to the ethos of this gallery—to uplift regional voices and place them in global conversation.”
