This fall, design enthusiasts from the Midwest and beyond will trade lakes and pines for palm trees and mountain views at Modernism Week – October, a four-day celebration of midcentury and modern architecture, interiors, and landscape design in Palm Springs, California.
For fans of this beloved era, it’s like stepping into a living museum—except you can walk through the homes, sip cocktails poolside, and hear the stories from those who have lovingly restored the homes. This year’s lineup features more than 50 events, from intimate architecture tours to parties and exhibitions.
“We are so excited to continue sharing the momentum of our 20th-year celebration with this popular fall version of our festival,” says Lisa Vossley Smith, CEO of Modernism Week, in a prepared statement. “We will continue to showcase new events and some of the most popular programs that have made Modernism Week in February so famous.”

Fan Favorites
Some of Modernism Week’s most beloved events are returning this fall. The Modernism Week Featured Home Tour: Sackley Chase Sensation invites visitors inside a 1976 Stan Sackley residence with interiors by Steve Chase, updated by Grace Home Furnishings. Expect Brutalist details, Italian travertine floors, and jaw-dropping mountain views.
The Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tour remains the signature way to see Palm Springs’ architectural treasures, while specialty tours—like Sinatra’s Rat Pack Homes & Hangouts or The Homes That Define Palm Springs—bring niche storytelling to the experience.
Collectors and design hunters won’t want to miss the Palm Springs Modernism Fall Show, featuring nearly 50 premier national exhibitors of vintage furniture, home decor, and fine art. The preview party, complete with a wine reception and early shopping opportunity, happens the night prior.

New This Year
Fresh additions to this year’s event offer new ways to experience midcentury marvels in Palm Springs. The Palm Springs Paradise Home Tour: A Celebration of Bold Design, Color, and Desert Style features six personality-packed residences, while the Canyon Country Club Colony Home Tour combines interior tours with vintage cars, golf carts, and neighborhood history.
The Brutalist: Exploring Laszlo Sandor’s Canyon South III and the Rise of 1970s Desert Modernism dives into Sandor’s bold architectural style, and Atomic Ranch Talk & Tour: A Raquet Club Revival showcases where preservation meets a new generation of midcentury-modern style.
Can’t-miss evening events include Golden Hour Gathering at the Morse Residence, 1961, an intimate cocktail event in a historic home, and VIVA LAS VEGAS, a dinner-and-a-show experience with music, themed cocktails, and retro glam.

Free Events
The fall event also offers a variety of complimentary experiences. Some of this year’s highlights include the Art Architecture & Design Book Sale by Friends of the Palm Springs Library, Art District Tour, and Hot Purple Energy Architectural Bike Ride. Talks such as Canyon Country Club: History and Design of Palm Springs’ Garden of Eden and The Design of Herbert W. Burns offer design insight without the ticket price.
