For the second consecutive year, two Minnesota design companies have secured spots on The Expert’s coveted Top 40 list. This annual “best of” roundup highlights the top 20% of firms based on client searches, bookings, and reviews. After a successful year on the platform—complete with recognition on the inaugural Top 40 last year and the launch of an exclusive virtual showroom—Anne McDonald Design appears on the list again for 2025. Meanwhile, Yond Interiors makes an exciting debut.
Anne McDonald first joined The Expert in early 2023, and since then, has built a loyal client base drawn to her signature design approach. “Having now completed nearly 150 sessions on The Expert, the work has become more efficient, and I’ve upped my ability to really nail serving the clients,” McDonald explains. “I can immediately identify the ways in which I can lend my expertise, make the best recommendations while staying within budget, and meet their design goals in a surprising amount of time.”
Her extensive experience in both construction and art history allows her to set herself apart from other design firms on the platform. Whether renovating an old home or building new, McDonald’s passion lies in bringing warmth and charm to interior spaces.
“We’ve been so honored to not only be named to The Expert Top 40 list for the second year but have also had some incredible recognition in [other] top publications and lists, including Architectural Digest’s New American Voices,” she continues. “This has given the business, and me, a boost and motivation to put out our best work, seek out the best clients for us, and continue to evolve and refine my and the studio’s aesthetic.”

Likewise, Yond Interiors, founded by Julia Miller, has quickly gained traction on the site since joining in July 2024. “I have absolutely loved meeting clients with design dilemmas, as well as other designers looking for feedback and support in their business,” she shares. “You can pack a lot into an hour-long session.”
With her short time on The Expert, Miller admits she was shocked by the recognition. “I was so surprised!” she exclaims. “I truly love participating on the platform, so it was an honor to be recognized knowing the clients I’ve worked with [are the ones that] got me here.”
