Craft Studio
PKA Architecture, Dovetail, Conlin Rudd Interior Design

Spacecrafting
This sewing and craft studio is part of a whole-house renovation in Minneapolis’ Lowry Hill East Residential Historic District. In close collaboration with the clients, one of whom is a photographer and clothing and jewelry designer, the team designed the studio with a large, custom-built cutting table with storage for patterns, two side-by-side sewing tables, a dressmaker’s mannequin, a wall of cabinetry and shelving, durable flooring that looks like a cable-knit sweater, and “Dear Ingo Suspension” by Ron Gilad—a light fixture made from classic black architect desk lamps. A custom, 10-foot-long built-in desk completes the room, from where the homeowner reviews and edits her photographs, designs jewelry, and watches the birds in her garden.

Hobbies are taken to new heights in this home, where the star is the indoor pickleball court featuring a 20-foot ceiling, a courtside viewing area with seating and a kitchenette, and staircase leading to a tucked-away kids playroom with an additional viewing window overlooking the court. A full glass view from inside the lower level and exercise room add to the variety of ways fans can cheer on players. And for when the residents need a break from the sport, a basketball hoop adds another court game option.
Art Studio

LandMark Photography/Jim Kruger
Completed in 2023, this home art studio in Wayzata is a blend of traditional design and artistic expression. With arch windows that allow natural light to pour in and a chandelier that adds a touch of glamour, the space allows the homeowner’s artwork to shine. Colorful pillows, a striking rug, and a mix of new and antique furniture pieces complete the room’s inspired charm.
Workout Room and Sauna
Chisel Architecture, City Homes, Liquidpink Interiors

Spacecrafting
Located on the lower level of a two-story addition, the workout room and sauna space in this home doubles as a guest bedroom. Ample natural light gives levity to workouts and modern design elements hide storage for items while giving the space a minimal vibe that’s ideal for focused exercise sessions. The sauna completes the space’s zen-like atmosphere.
Billiards Room

Featuring reclaimed antique elm wood flooring with a rich espresso finish, crown molding, and a sleek black pool tabletop, this billiards room exudes refinement. Eggshell walls provide a subtle backdrop for the homeowner’s artwork and various collections, and a shuffleboard adds another activity to the mix. The final product is a space primed for luxurious get-togethers.
Golf Simulator and Lounge
Lenox House Design, Black Dog Homes, Windmiller Design Studio

Spacecrafting
The two-story addition to this home added a haven that would be the envy of any golf enthusiast. A lower-level golf simulator with a lounge and remodeled exercise room combine to make the ultimate training space for swinging clubs during all seasons. Recycled rubber floors and felt tiles provide a nonskid surface while training, and blue wall fabric panels help with sound absorption and golf ball deflection. Custom furnishings in the lounge space create an area for watching others practice their game or can double as a cozy space to watch a movie.
